Occupational Therapists can help people participate in meaningful occupations. We engage people of all abilities by using activities to teach skills, adapt tasks and enhance environments to enable participation. Play Therapy is a theoretically-based, age appropriate approach to person-directed therapy. Play Therapists are specially trained to help people express what is troubling them when they do not have the words to express their thoughts and feelings. Play therapy uses therapuetic respources provided in session and facilitated by a qualified therapist to address barriers experienced in building self-confidence, overcoming challenges, and building sustainable relationships with those around them.

About Alice: Great Southern OccuPlay is locally owned and operated by Alice Schinzig. Alice grew up in the rural Great Southern region, and enjoys working with people and the community. Alice believes that people living in regional Western Australia should be able to access quality services to achieve their best life. Alice completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) Degree from Curtin University in 2006, and has practiced in the Great Southern region of WA since graduation. Alice has worked in a variety of workplaces, including community health, disability and aged care. In 2021 Alice completed her Post Graduate training in Child Centred Play Therapy with Centre for Play Therapy.
